LOL, interesting how he mentions that the average person wouldn't understand the loaded language used in the study editions... If only he knew just what he was saying there.

Audio: Witnesses reaction to their private Watchtower being called "Koolaid Edition"
by kurtbethel inhere is an audio clip from a study where the witnesses are handing out a watchtower and awake, and promoting their benefit.
then the householder asks about the "koolaid edition".
one of the acts surprised and the other one quickly goes into damage control mode trying to explain the term.. very funny, sweet beverage indeed!.

Ft. Lauderdale (Griffin Rd.) Assembly Hall
by pubtruth ini'm a little shocked they would go this far, then again jehovah's quickening the pace...?
i was at my last day of the spanish 2-day circuit assembly when they went over the announcements, one of them the economic report.
it did start off good (for them) mentioning last assembly's (district i assume) actual surplus after the operation costs were taken care of.

Sept.15th WT - WT Society uses Guilt & Fear to Avoid Friendship & Internet
by flipper inonce again my wife and i were sent the " witness only " wt version by our lurking jw friend that they study at wt study meetings.
and once again wt society is showing very controlling tendencies towards it's jw members.. do any of you remember the " old days " in the 1970's or early 1980's when witnesses used to have goody night after book study ?
or you would have a " potluck picnic " with about 30 to 40 people getting to know one another to draw close as friends outside the confines of the kingdom hall ?

Beware of false prophets
Excellent thread Mr. Flipper! Thanks for posting this!
I remember plenty of get-togethers and goody nights into the early 90's. I always thought it was my disinterest as a teenager, and the fact that my mother was too cheap to let me go out and do as much as I could have, that made these outings seem to dwindle, but after reading what everyone else has had to say here, I can see that it wasn't just that I wasn't getting invited less, it was also just not happening.
I thought "bad associations spoil useful habits" not "all associations outside of your active laboring for the WTS spoil useful habits". Talk about causing more paranoia about everyone around you. It seems that it won't matter much if a person is disfellowshipped or not, you're not supposed to be friends with anyone at all! I see that they are trying to divide and conquer, but this is a two edged sword that they are wielding. Are they also telling people that, except through field circus, they are not allowed to date, therefore making it harder to marry and create more born-ins? As was mentioned before, this doesn't really allow for a pretty painted picture of JWs living happy lives to attract the attention of others. There is a church in my area who promotes small groups that do all sorts of things to no end; they have members who have joined small groups first and the church later because of their involvement in the small group. I really don't see how the WTS expects to grow at all the way they are lately. They must know that their "door-to-door" work doesn't do much in developed countries. Sometimes I really don't understand their "long term plan". (But enough of my ranting).
I can't see how this wouldn't cause more normal people to leave the ranks if they take it the way it seems to be intended and don't rationalize their normal, human social behavior against the mind-numbing audacity of the WTS printing corp. The sad part is that many of them who haven't woken up much before their exit will think that they were just too weak to be in "Jehovah's one true organization". I'm pretty sure that's how I would have felt about it if I had continued with it past my adolescence. (I felt that way anyway when I decided not to continue with it.)
Many young ones who are "free to leave" will do so without being allowed a social life (not to mention entertainment limitations that basically lead to the occasional selection of a PG or G rated movie). I guess the WTS will have what it wants when it's all said and done - diehards who will stop at nothing to do WTS bidding. These people will be mentally lacking (one way or another by the time the WTS is done with them), but that's what it takes to live under as much restriction as the WTS places on it's members. I don't know how they expect to get enough money out of these people to stay afloat for long.
Sorry for such a long post! Did anyone else really identify with the movie Footloose (especially the first time you saw it)?

Beware of false prophets
I'm sure most of the R&F would say that this is just more of the separating work (if they were ever given enough info to think about it at all). So to them, as with most brazen WTS info (LOL), the end must be oh so near because the work is changing (light getting brighter), which automatically means that they might not make it to the next near milestone of their lives.
Does anyone else see this as one of those dominoes that moves a bit after you stand it up, threatening to fall and knock down the whole line that you just set up? They will have all the more power to lessen their numbers, divide families, and draw attention to others on their way out. Some of the R&F will become that much more strict about how they (and their children) are, so as to avoid Jah's wrath (or the possibility of the humiliation of being kicked out), and others who are starting to wake up a little might find themselves unable to deal with the pressure to comply on such a strict level. I'm not saying that this will end them, but it will be interesting to see if the number of DF'd spikes and if we see a significant increase in the people in the ex-JW community who have chosen to leave before having to deal with the elders telling them how their unrepentant, brazen behavior is a stumbling block to others and they need to be removed from "Jehovah's Organization".

"You can deceive yourself and may have limited success in deceiving others, but this doesn't change reality"
A very good description of the WTS, if ever I've heard one. Sadly that was not the intent of AIW...

DVD "JW's Faith In Action, part 1 Out of Darkness" Omits! Omits! Omits!
by Wasanelder Once ini've been watching the new dvd and it is a bull fest about russell.
i haven't even gotten half way and they already excluded one very important bit of information.
you'll recall that russell "lost" his faith and "turning away from church creeds and searching for truth, russell examined some leading oriental religions, only to find these unsatisfying".

I agree that setting it up as a torrent would be a great idea. Maybe if someone could get a copy to someone who knows how to set up a torrent. I know how to download a torrent, but I haven't figured out how set one up yet. Whoever sets it up could put it in as something like you did Black Sheep (give it a title different from what it is) and then PM everyone what to search for on The Pirate Bay or something like that. On the other hand that would mean that everyone would have to be torrent savy.

Beware of false prophets
I'm not trying to be a pest, but I was still wondering if I could get that link. If anyone can confirm that I'm not a JW trying to infiltrate and get someone in trouble that would be great. I'm Ann Littlefield on Facebook. (Not searchable due to JW members in the family.) Anyway, just thought I'd mention it in case it helps or makes a difference.

Beware of false prophets
Hello everyone,
Sorry this is my first post here. I've become quite active on Facebook and been to this site many times, but only to read, since there more of a learning curve for me here. Anyway, I totally understand if I'm too new to be trusted here yet, but I'd love a link too. I really want to get this and watch it before my mother goes to the DC in August!
